Waking our sleeping knowledge

Yaamarra & Yarral is on a mission to reawaken Indigenous Peoples' native grains foodways and to advocate for a food system that is built on Indigenous principles of relationality, reciprocity, responsibility and respect. 

Purposeful impact

As a profit-for-purpose social enterprise, Yaamarra & Yarral will be investing 50% of our profits into Maal Dhuwi, a purpose-driven, Gamilaraay-led organisation driving systemic transformation in the food system through the principles of Indigenous food sovereignty.

Activating an industry

By processing our native grains that are grown on Gamilaraay Country, we starting to develop an industry within a story of provenance. We can showcase the commercial viability of the industry, whilst embedding ourselves in the supply chain to ensure equitable participation in, benefit from, and leadership of native grain foodways. We are exploring opportunities to establish of our own native grain crops and supporting other individuals, organisations, and communities to enter this space.
